How push notifications from their mobile app helped Kyte BABY increase sales by 10x to their loyal followers

Since Kyte BABY's conception in 2014, they have grown a tremendously loyal fanbase. Kyte BABY is currently boasting over 600K Instagram followers, 80K TikTok followers & 70K Facebook Kyte KLUB members.

Even with such a strong social following, Kyte BABY struggled to reach their whole audience to promote their weekly product launches without having to pay for social media ads. Looking for an organic way to own a direct relationship with their audience, boost conversion, and improve repeat purchases, they discovered the power of mobile apps.

Month 1: App Scaling with Plobal

Prior to the app's go-live date, the Plobal Apps launch team ensured Kyte BABY was set up for success. To do this, Plobal Apps had all integrations pre-set, a 'Download Our App' banner was prepared & push notification journeys were set up by Plobal Apps' success team.

App Personalizations

Kyte BABY was using a number of third-party apps on their Shopify store that needed to be applied to their mobile app including a "Back In Stock" customer alert. Plobal Apps was able to fully integrate this feature into the Kyte BABY app, ensuring that customers receive a push notification that deep links them directly to the product when they become available for purchase again. Plobal Apps was also able to create a seamless integration with their rewards program, leveraging our partnership with Loyalty Lion. This integration is particularly important to driving downloads from loyal customers without offering unnecessary discounts as incentives.

"New Collection" Push Notifications

Kyte BABY has a new collection launch every Thursday. For each new launch, the Plobal Apps success team sets up a "new collection" countdown clock inside the app 2 days before the catalog is available. They also schedule a push notification to be sent the second each collection goes live. These push notification campaigns have been crucial to driving consumers to the app for their purchases, helping drive repeat purchases from their most loyal customers. Incremental revenue from the first 4 campaigns are shown on the chart below: 

Custom Journeys

While planning the launch of the app, their Plobal Apps success manager discovered that the Kyte BABY brand has a very distinct tone of voice. Because of this, they decided to customize all messaging in the pre-set push notification journeys to match the Kyte BABY brand. These customized messaging campaigns included; Welcome messaging, abandoned cart notifications, abandoned browse journeys & abandoned favorites journeys.

These branded campaigns resulted in a significant improvement over industry standards across the board, particularly in the welcome journey.

About Kyte BABY

Yin, the founder of Kyte BABY, noticed her daughter would pull open her pajamas at night to relieve the itchiness of her chronic eczema. Seeing how much relief it gave her, Yin searched for fabrics that would keep her baby's skin cool and reduce irritation. It turns out, the fabric she was looking for was bamboo.

Bamboo is 3 degrees cooler than cotton, while also being hypoallergenic. The softness & coolness of bamboo is unmatched and when she started putting bamboo clothing and swaddles on her daughter, her sleep significantly improved.

In this process, Ying also discovered that bamboo is a highly sustainable resource. It requires much less time & water to grow than cotton, and it uses practically no pesticides. It's everything she was looking for in a fabric. From this discovery, Kyte BABY was born.
